Leviticus ✅ 5/5 The Summer Hikaru Died but make it Australian. Pray the Gay: the film What an incredible year for horror films between this, obsession and the backrooms. To me, this is the best of the bunch by a mile and one of my fave films ever because it’s an excellent and heartbreaking social commentary on conservative Christian culture and gay repression. Homophobia is crazy because dooming own child to a lifetime of mental and emotional anguish all because you can’t accept who they love is completely illogical. Rather being angry at the mob of homophobes or may or may not come after your kid and trying to change society, you want to change your child. As a catholic, I don’t understand how these people claim to be Christian when Christ gave us one commandment above all which is antithetical to the behavior we see in this film. The mom here gives Bear from obsession a run for his money as the biggest piece of shit of the year because holy fuck was she irredeemable. I can’t imagine how people like that even sleep at night knowing the things they subject their kids to. Just disgusting. The horror elements were extremely well done, a couple scenes made me jump and it’s a very well paced film as well. I knew this was gonna be peak from the very first shot in that swimming pool. Grips you from the start and never lets go. There’s never a dull moment, whether it’s the homoeroticism or demonic bits. Adrian Chiarella, take a bow, this was great. Joe Bird and Stacy Clausen had two of the best performances of the year. So much emotion in their facial expressions and in every bit of dialogue. Will keep an eye out for them. Amazing film that lived up to the hype for me. #leviticus

Look at his body language, his eyes, his tone…. He truly has lost it. Or, he is another actor in this movie that needs to keep the world swimming in their collective narritives. To me, I no longer take heed of too many opinions from others. I just sit back, listen and watch it play out. It has been great to let go of all that is going on.
